India Tour Package from Nepal 2026 — Goa, Kerala & Cost

India is the one international holiday a Nepali passport holder can book this week and take next week. No visa, no embassy, no waiting — and flights that cost a fraction of anywhere else. For a first trip abroad, or a short break when leave is scarce, nothing else comes close.

The question is only where to go. India is not one destination; Goa, Kerala and the Tamil Nadu temple trail are three completely different holidays.

Do Nepali Citizens Need a Visa for India?

No. Nepali citizens travel to India visa-free — the only destination in this guide where you can decide on Friday and fly on Monday.

You do still need proof of identity, and flying makes this stricter than crossing by road. Carry your passport. It is the cleanest document at check-in and at Indian immigration, it avoids arguments, and you need it for hotel registration anyway. Travelling with children? Carry their birth certificates too.

India Tour Packages from Nepal

Package Duration Best for
Goa 5N / 6D Beaches, nightlife, Portuguese heritage — couples and friends
Kerala 6N / 7D Backwaters, tea gardens, wildlife — families and honeymooners
South India temples 6N / 7D Tamil Nadu’s great temples — culture and pilgrimage

All include airport transfers, hotels, daily breakfast, an air-conditioned vehicle, an English-speaking guide, sightseeing and taxes. Airfare and meals beyond breakfast are extra.

Goa — 5 Nights

  1. Day 1: Arrive Goa, transfer to your beach hotel, evening at Calangute or Baga.
  2. Day 2: Old Goa and Panjim — Basilica of Bom Jesus (UNESCO), Se Cathedral, and the Latin quarter of Fontainhas.
  3. Day 3: Jeep ride to Dudhsagar Falls, then a spice plantation with a traditional Goan lunch.
  4. Day 4: North Goa — Calangute, Baga and Anjuna, the flea market if it is a Wednesday, sunset at Chapora Fort.
  5. Day 5: South Goa — the quieter sands of Colva, Benaulim and Palolem, plus Cabo da Rama.
  6. Day 6: Departure.

North Goa is busy and social; South Goa is calm. The itinerary gives you both so you can decide which you prefer before you return.

Kerala — 6 Nights

  1. Day 1: Arrive Kochi, evening walk through Fort Kochi.
  2. Day 2: Kochi — the Chinese fishing nets, Jew Town, the Dutch Palace at Mattancherry, St Francis Church.
  3. Day 3: Up to Munnar — tea museum, an estate walk and Eravikulam National Park.
  4. Day 4: Thekkady — Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary and a spice plantation.
  5. Day 5: Alleppey houseboat — board a traditional Kerala houseboat, cruise the palm-lined backwaters, all meals on board, overnight on the water.
  6. Day 6: Kovalam beach near Trivandrum, afternoon at leisure.
  7. Day 7: Departure.

The houseboat night is the reason people book Kerala, and it earns its reputation. For Nepali travellers used to mountains, a night drifting through backwater canals is a genuinely different experience. We also run a second Kerala routing that adds Kanyakumari at India’s southern tip — ask us if that appeals.

South India Temples — 6 Nights

Chennai and Mahabalipuram’s Shore Temple (UNESCO), the French quarter of Pondicherry and Auroville, the Nataraja temple at Chidambaram, the Brihadeeswara temple at Thanjavur (UNESCO), Trichy’s Rock Fort, and finally the Meenakshi Amman temple at Madurai.

For Nepali travellers this is the most meaningful of the three — a temple circuit with a devotional significance that a beach holiday does not have, and architecture on a scale that surprises people.

When to Go

Months Goa Kerala & Tamil Nadu
November – February ★ Best — dry, warm, peak season ★ Best — pleasant and dry
March – May Hot and humid Very hot inland, better in the hills
June – September Monsoon — cheapest, lush, wet Monsoon; Kerala is beautiful but soaked
October Shoulder — good value Shoulder — good value

Tihar and the weeks after it fall in the best window for all three. For the wider picture see our month-by-month guide.

What It Costs

India is the cheapest international holiday available from Nepal, for three reasons: no visa fee, short flights, and daily costs well below Southeast Asia. A good meal runs a few hundred rupees; entry tickets are modest; taxis are cheap.

Send us your dates and we will quote the package and the airfare separately so you can see both. Compare with our under NPR 1 lakh guide.

Practical Notes

  • Carry your passport even though no visa is required — hotels ask for photo ID at check-in.
  • Foreign currency rules still apply. Nepal has limits on what you can carry — see our forex guide.
  • Take travel insurance. It is inexpensive and hospital bills are not — see our insurance guide.
  • Buy a local SIM on arrival rather than paying roaming.
  • South India is not North India. Different food, languages and climate — rice, coconut and filter coffee rather than the Delhi-style food Nepali travellers expect.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do Nepali citizens really need no visa for India?

Correct — no visa. Carry your passport as identity proof when flying.

Which is better for a honeymoon, Goa or Kerala?

Kerala, for the houseboat night and the hill stations. Goa suits couples who want beaches and nightlife. If the budget stretches further, compare our Bali and Maldives honeymoon options.

Is India suitable for older parents?

Yes, and it is often the best first trip for them — no visa stress, short flights and familiar food. The temple circuit is especially popular. See our guide to booking for parents.

How quickly can I leave?

As fast as we can get seats. With no visa to arrange, India is the only destination where next week is realistic — see what else is still bookable.
