Singapore Visa for Nepali Citizens 2026 — Cost & Documents

Singapore is one of the most popular family destinations from Nepal — clean, safe, easy to get around, and full of things children love. The visa is not difficult either, but it works differently from most countries: Nepali citizens usually cannot apply directly. The application goes through an authorised agent or a Singapore-based sponsor.

This guide explains how the Singapore visa for Nepali citizens works, what it costs and how long to allow.

Do Nepali Citizens Need a Visa for Singapore?

Yes. Nepali passport holders need a visa before travel, and there is no visa on arrival. Visas are issued by Singapore’s Immigration & Checkpoints Authority (ICA). For Nepali applicants, the application is normally submitted by:

  • An authorised visa agent — such as a travel agency — or
  • A local contact in Singapore — a citizen, permanent resident or registered company that sponsors you

If you are travelling as a tourist without family in Singapore, the agent route is the usual one.

Singapore Visa Cost and Stay

Item Details
Government fee SGD 30 (approx NPR 3,000), non-refundable
Stay per visit Usually up to 30 days, decided by the officer on arrival
Validity Set by ICA on each visa — check the dates on your e-Visa
Format e-Visa (PDF) — print it and carry it

An agent service fee is added on top. Visa fees are not part of our package prices — we quote them separately, and our visa team prepares and submits the application for you.

Documents Required

  • Passport — at least 6 months validity
  • Application form (Form 14A), completed and signed
  • Recent photo — white background, to ICA’s specification
  • Return flight booking
  • Hotel booking for the whole stay
  • Bank statement — typically recent months, showing enough funds for the trip
  • Employment letter or business documents
  • For children: birth certificate and school details

Requirements can vary by applicant. We give you an exact checklist before you start collecting papers — see our visa services.

How Long It Takes

Once submitted, processing is typically around 3–5 working days, but ICA can take longer or ask for more documents. Allow 2–3 weeks in total, including gathering papers. During school holidays and Dashain–Tihar, give it longer.

Why Singapore Visas Get Refused

ICA does not always explain a refusal, but the common causes are predictable:

  1. Weak or unexplained finances — especially a large deposit just before applying
  2. Inconsistent information between the form, bookings and passport
  3. Incomplete forms or poor-quality photos
  4. Previous immigration problems in Singapore or elsewhere, not declared

Declare everything honestly. An undeclared past refusal does far more damage than a declared one.

Arriving in Singapore

  1. Submit the SG Arrival Card online within 3 days before arrival. It is free on the official ICA site — avoid websites charging for it.
  2. Carry a printed e-Visa, return ticket and hotel booking.
  3. There are no direct flights from Kathmandu, so you connect via Kuala Lumpur, Bangkok or another hub. Make sure any transit country’s rules are covered too.

Singapore Compared to Other Visas from Nepal

Destination Visa Difficulty
Vietnam e-Visa, USD 25 Easy
Dubai Arranged in advance, police clearance needed Moderate
Singapore e-Visa via agent, SGD 30 Moderate — paperwork, rarely hard
Japan Embassy, heavy documents Hard
Europe Schengen, embassy appointment Hard

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I apply for a Singapore visa myself?

Usually not as a Nepali tourist without a Singapore sponsor. The application must be submitted by an authorised agent or a local contact in Singapore.

Can I combine Singapore and Malaysia?

Yes — it is a very popular combination. You need the correct visa or entry permission for both countries, and a multiple-entry arrangement if you enter Singapore twice. See our Malaysia guide.

Do children need their own visa?

Yes. Every traveller needs their own visa, including infants.

Is travel insurance required?

Not for the visa, but medical care in Singapore is expensive. We strongly recommend it — see our travel insurance guide.
