Do Nepali Citizens Need a Visa for Thailand?

Thailand visa — what our visa desk needs
- Visa type: Tourist
- Cost with our processing: NPR 8,000 per person
- Processing time: about 7 days — apply early
- Passport / Travel Document — Upload a clear scanned copy of your valid passport/travel document. It should have at least 6 months of remaining validity. Make sure all personal and passport details are clearly visible and readable.
- Passport-Size Photograph — Upload one recent digital colour photograph measuring approximately 35 × 45 mm with a plain white background. Both ears should be clearly visible. Do not wear glasses or a cap, and the photograph should be without makeup as specified in the checklist.
- Professional Information (Adults) — Provide your current professional details, including your job title/occupation, employer or organization name, and work address, as applicable.
- Identity Verification Document (Adults) — Upload any one acceptable identity document: National ID Card, Citizenship Certificate, Driver’s Licence, or PAN Card. Only one valid document from this list is required.
- Financial Proof (Adults) — Upload your bank statement covering the most recent 4 months. The financial evidence should show a closing balance of at least NPR 100,000 per person. Statements and balance certificates should be issued by an A, B or C Class Bank or another accepted commercial bank. Documents issued by microfinance institutions are generally not accepted, according to the provided checklist.

⚠️ The Bank Statement Rule That Delays Most Applications
This is where Thailand applications stall. Three things to get right:
- The balance is per person. A family of four needs a closing balance of at least NPR 400,000 across the statements submitted.
- The bank must be an A, B or C class bank (or another accepted commercial bank). Statements from microfinance institutions are generally not accepted.
- It covers the most recent 4 months. A balance that appeared last week looks worse than one that has been steady — start preparing early.
Children travelling with parents do not need their own professional, ID or financial documents — just their passport and photo.
Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC)
Thailand replaced the old paper arrival card with an online Digital Arrival Card. Every foreign visitor must submit it before arrival.
